The Washington Department of Natural Resources is required by law
to prepare a Natural Heritage Plan, and to update it every two years.

Comprehensive Wildlife Strategy
The Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife has developed a Comprehensive
Wildlife Conservation Strategy to create a new management framework
for the protection of Washington’s species and habitats in need
of conservation.

Wildlife and Recreation Coalition
Through the foundation of the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program
(WWRP),
the Coalition has helped fund a multitude of projects across the state
of Washington.
Puget
Sound Partnership
In December of 2005, Governor Chris Gregoire initiated the Puget Sound
Partnership, a public/private group charged with developing an aggressive
15-year plan to solve Puget Sound’s most complex problems.

Public campain by the Puget Sound Alliance to promote the restoration
and protection of the Puget Sound. The Puget Sound Alliance is made
up of the Trust for Public Land, People for Puget Sound, and The Nature
Conservancy.

Assessment process, and is also developing assessments for Canada.
